What does this answer mean?
The United States fought several wars in the 1900s, and you only need to name one. USCIS accepts five: World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, or the Persian Gulf War.
The United States entered World War I in April 1917, and the fighting ended with an armistice on November 11, 1918. It entered World War II after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. The Korean War began in June 1950, when North Korea invaded South Korea, and fighting stopped with an armistice in July 1953. In the Vietnam War, the last American troops left in 1973 after a peace agreement. And in the Persian Gulf War, a coalition led by the United States drove Iraq's military out of Kuwait in early 1991.
Several of these wars have their own questions on the test, which ask why the United States entered them.
At the interview, an easy answer is "World War II."
