Disclaimer

Citizenshiply explains how U.S. naturalization works in general. Please read this page before you rely on our guides, tools, or practice interview.

The short version

  • Education, not legal advice

We explain how the process works. We can't tell you what to do in your own case.

  • Not a government website

We are not USCIS and are not affiliated with any government agency.

  • No guaranteed results

No guide, tool, or study method can promise that an application will be approved.

  • The official source wins

Rules change. Check the official source before you file or make a decision.

Is Citizenshiply part of the government?

No. Citizenshiply is an independent website. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Department of Homeland Security, or any other government agency.

We don't accept or process applications, collect government fees, schedule appointments, or check case status. Those happen only through USCIS. USCIS forms are free to download from uscis.gov.

How accurate is the information?

We take facts such as fees, dates, and test rules from official government sources, link to them, and show when each guide was last reviewed. We work to keep everything current, but immigration rules, forms, and fees can change at any time, sometimes with little notice.

If anything on this site differs from USCIS or another official source, the official source is correct. Check it before you file, pay a fee, or make a decision.

What do the free tools tell me?

Our calculators, checklists, and study tools give general estimates based on the answers you enter and on the rules as of their review date. A result such as "you may qualify" or a fee estimate is not a decision. Only USCIS decides eligibility, the fee that applies, and the outcome of an application.

The tools don't send what you type to us. Any progress they save stays in your own browser.

Is the Practice Interview officer real?

No. The Practice Interview is a simulation run by AI. The officer you talk to is fictional and is not a USCIS officer or any real person. It is meant to help you rehearse, not to stand in for the real interview.

The simulation can't predict your result, and its feedback is not legal advice. Real interviews can include questions and follow-ups that a practice session does not, and the same is true of our practice tests: a practice score doesn't predict how your interview will go.

Citizenshiply is an independent educational service. It is not affiliated with USCIS or any government agency.

Are the English and Spanish versions the same?

Our Spanish pages are adapted for Spanish readers rather than translated word for word, so the wording and examples may differ. Facts, numbers, and sources are the same in both languages. If you notice a difference, the official USCIS source is correct, and we'd be grateful if you told us.

Who is responsible for decisions I make?

You use the information on this site at your own risk. Citizenshiply is not responsible for any decision you make, or for the result of any application, based on what you read or calculate here. If your situation is complicated, such as a past arrest, long trips abroad, or an earlier immigration problem, talk to a legal professional before you file.
